The Southern African Telecommunications Networks and Applications Conference (SATNAC 2006) will be held in Cape Town from 3 to 6 September 2006. SATNAC is arguably the biggest telecoms conference within the region. Besides providing an ideal forum for postgraduate students to highlight successes achieved on their research, SATNAC provides an excellent networking platform for the telecoms industry.
Personally, I am glad to let you know that I will be there presenting a paper entitled “Performance Evaluation of the Particle Swarm Optimized Fuzzy Logic Congestion Detection Mechanism in Proportional Differentiated Services IP Networks”. Actually, my maiden conference presentation was at SATNAC 2005 in the Central Drakensberg (KwaZulu-Natal). I, therefore, will always have a special place in my heart for SATNAC.
SATNAC 2006 offers me the opportunity to visit the Cape Town (also called the “Mother City” of South Africa) for the first time. I just hope that it will be a memorable experience like the Vancouver one.
