I once had a horrible experience trying to get a visa for Japan from Zambia at a time when communication between the two country's was horrible. Like you said DHL is really expensive. I finally got a friend who was able to actually go there and get it done for me.
I hope they do offer more scholarships to Malawian students as well.Jpan has whole lot more to offer than just the education factor. The cultural experience in itself is deeply rewarding. By the way . I spent some time reading your blog and I have to commend you for doing a good job!

I am glad Japan is finally opening an embassy in Malawi.
