Although I have been very busy with preparations for the trip to Japan, I feel obliged to make a small report on the short course on Wireless Networking for developing countries which we ran at the Malawi Polytechnic, University of Malawi some few days ago.
We had 14 participants from all over the country. Here are some of the photos:
The course covered a number of wireless networking concepts as outlined in the initial post. In my case, I made presentations on IP Addressing, Routing and Subnetting, Network Management and Monitoring and Computer Security. The response from the participants was generally good only that they indicated that the practical aspects of the course should have been given ample time. We are now creating a Wireless Malawi internet discussion forum where all the people that attended this short course and even those who attended last year’s course will be registered. This forum will enable us to share some of the latest developments in the field.
We also received some books from our counterparts at ICTP, Italy which we shared with the participants of the short course.
