Backup should be the standard for any IT related company. These days nearly all businesses make use of a computer in someway, and backup should never be overlooked.

Yes, and at the worst time. I seriously doubt a company could recover from that kind of loss, another factor in that is the downtime needed to rebuild everything. That would certainly cause the loss of even more customers!

Good job the servers are ok, I know some big sites and businesses have all their data on those. If they were destroyed it would have been a major financial loss to the companies and a loss to the consumer.

Every time i read things like this i can’t help to remember what will happen to us, people who main activity and income sources is the internet.

Did you though for once how you can survive and be useful in a post nuclear conflict world, or a world downgraded because of resource depletion ?

This scare me a lot because, if i think deeper, i realize that i don’t know to do anything in non virtual world.
