If you are looking for funded postgraduate research, the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) has some good news for you. The IRCSET has unveiled a €10.8 million scheme which will fund the early career formation of new doctoral and masters researchers in the sciences, engineering and technology. The Postgraduate Scholarship Research Scheme (Second Call) will operate in 2008 under the Council’s Embark Initiative.

I am told that earlier this year in its 1st call, the IRCSET provided 150 scholarships where 15 were awarded to International (non-EU) students. Therefore, even when you are a non-EU student, it is advisable to try your luck. This might just be the thing which you have been waiting for all these years. For more details about this scheme, follow this link.

The Closing Date for all applications will be 5.00pm, 20th August 2008.
The Closing Date for all references will be 5.00pm, 27th August 2008.
