The United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID) has organized a new forum for young people to showcase their experiences in using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for community development projects. The new eLeaders ICT4D Best Practices Forum, powered by TakingITGlobal, gives all young people involved in ICT4D the opportunity to share their best practices, innovations, success stories and more.
The GAID Committee of eLeaders for Youth and ICT will select the best of the best, and award the innovators with the most creative and impacting projects with fellowships to attend the GAID Global Forum on ICT and Innovation for Education in September 2009 in Monterrey, Mexico. Other exceptional case studies will be published and presented at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York this September. The publication will be distributed to governments, civil society, academia and private sector organizations around the world.
They are expecting case studies of dynamic and innovative projects. These could range from youth media or train-the-trainer programs to online campaigning or entrepreneurship initiatives. Those of you interested in sharing your vision and examples of how you are changing the world can do so by filling out this form. I do not know the form submission deadline. You may wish to contact TakingITGlobal (info at takingitglobal.org) for more on that.
Hopefully the H1N1 (swine) flu outbreak in Mexico will be over by September, 2009.

You always talk about some in depth, important things on your blog. You don’t find this too often on the internet.
Keep it up.

What a cool idea! I think it’s great the young people have an opportunity like this. Are you involved in any way?

I wouldn’t worry about the flu. It’s been over played in my opinion. The infection rate is lower than the normal flu. It should pass.
