Malawi’s Barefoot solar engineers won the Best Rural Electrification Project Award on the continent at the Africa Energy Awards event which took place in March, 2010 in Sandton, South Africa. These awards are the biggest power and electricity awards in Africa. Mrs Medina from Chimonjo village from Salima district accepted the Award on behalf of her rural Malawi Women Engineers at the Sandton Hotel.
