The Japanese translation of William Kamkwamba’s book, “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind”, is going to be published by Bungei Shunzyu Ltd this weekend. The translation has been done by Mr.Toshiki Taguchi.

Japanese version of "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind"
The book will will be introduced on a TV Show, ” Takeshi no Shin-Kyoikuhakusyo”, Fuji TV (Channel 8), from 21:00 on Saturday, 20th November 2010.
According to Yumiko Imoto, who is a member of Mr. Taguchi’s translation team, Mr. Ikegami, one of the hottest men of the moment, will talk about this book from 22:30 on the show.
The book is going to be on sale in Tokyo either today or tomorrow. It is already available on Amazon for only ¥1,750. The author, William Kamkwamba, will come to Japan next month for the promotion.
This is an exciting development. I am sure it will help to get Japanese people interested in Malawi and build stronger ties between the two countries.

It’s a novel, you see a boy build a wind turbine from junk, overcoming poverty to achieve what was needed. Highly recommended.

I have heard good comments about this book “The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind”. I will make sure that I will be reading this book in the coming days. Stories in and about Africa have always been captivating especially the ones written in books by great authors.
