All people who are interested in these jobs can access the adverts online. In this post, I will dwell more on academic positions in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT), where I am working and I have noticed that there is a severe need for more lecturers.

In the FEIT, we have the following vacancies:

  1. Lecturer in Electrical Engineering: The requirements are as follows. A Master`s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 (three) years lecturing experience, a satisfactory record of research, publication and service to the academic and wider community. A PhD will be added advantage. Among other things, the successful applicant will lecture Electrical Engineering Design, Renewable Energy Technologies and Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering modules to undergraduate students. He will also supervise Research projects; engage in research and publication activities, provide service to the academic and wider community, and perform any other duties as may be required.
  2. Lecturer in Computer Engineering: The requirements are as follows. A Master`s degree in Computer Engineering or related with at least 3 (three) years lecturing experience, a satisfactory record of research, publication and service to the academic and wider community. A PhD will be added advantage. Among other things, the successful applicant will Software Engineering, Computer Science for Engineers, Computer programming, Computing Fundamentals, Computer Networks and Database Systems modules to undergraduate students; Supervise Research projects; engage in research and publication activities, provide service to the academic and wider community, and perform any other duties as may be required.
  3. Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering: The requirements are as follows. A PhD in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 (three) years lecturing experience, a satisfactory record of research, publication and service to the academic and wider community. Among other things, the successful applicant will lecture Measurements and Instrumentation, Control Systems and Microprocessors and Programmable Logic Controllers modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He will also supervise Research projects; engage in research and publication activities, provide service to the academic and wider community, and perform any other duties as may be required.
  4. Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering: The requirements are as follows. A PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in Power Systems or Electrical Machines and Drives with at least 3 (three) years lecturing experience at Senior lecturer level, a satisfactory record of research, publication and service to the academic and wider community. Among other things, the successful applicant will lecture Power Transmission and Distribution, Power Systems Protection and Computational Methods in Power systems modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He will also supervise Research projects; engage in research and publication activities, provide service to the academic and wider community, and perform any other duties as may be required.
  5. Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering: The requirements are as follows. A PhD in Computer Engineering or related with at least 3 (three) years lecturing experience at Senior lecturer level, a satisfactory record of research, publication and service to the academic and wider community. Among other things, the successful applicant will lecture Measurements and Instrumentation, Digital Communication, Wireless Communication and Digital Signal Processing modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students; Supervise Research projects; engage in research and publication activities, provide service to the academic and wider community, and perform any other duties as may be required.
